Hello and welcome to Renew Physical Therapy and Wellness. I have had this website for a few years now, but it has mostly sat dormant. I have decided to begin a more active relationship with my site, and hopefully the individuals who find themselves browsing its content.
I am Kimberly Johnson. I am a Holistic Healer and Physical Therapist living and practicing my craft in Central Wisconsin. I have been a physical therapist for over 15 years. All that time has been spent working in the world of outpatient Orthopedics, with a specialization in Women’s Pelvic Health. I have worked in Minnesota, Oregon, and, for the last 8 years, Wisconsin. My work has evolved over the years to also include dry needling, CranioSacral Therapy, and energetic healing.
My Family
My husband, Mike, and I are Wisconsin kids; when we started our family 8 years ago it was very natural to be pulled “home.” Since moving to Stevens Point, we have expanded from a family of 2 to a family of 7. I have an 8-year-old son named Beckett, followed quickly by four daughters Maddux (6), Rivera (4), Ryan (3), and Paige (1). Our days are quite full of energy, chaos, growth, challenge, love…the whole 9 yards. My children motivate me in so many ways. I am driven by the idea of change and growth, and kids are the living breathing embodiment of change and growth.
Creating our Home
We live just west of Stevens Point in the rural setting of Junction City. Mike and I purchased an old farmhouse built in the late 1800s. It is situated on 5 acres, and surrounded by a large plot of public land, making it feel much more secluded than 5 acres alone could. It was in deep need of repairs and updates when we snagged it from a foreclosure situation. Slowly we have changed the layout, remodeled most of the rooms, and are currently in the process of adding on to accommodate our boisterous young family. The repairing and loving of this home is a constant work in progress.
Staying Active and My Passion for Music
Some of my personal interests include CrossFit, running, gardening, cooking, reading, journaling, rolling around with my puppies, and recently I have begun taking guitar lessons. Music is a way for me to delve a bit into my creativity, and I have found it to be a place that I can lose time. As such, it can be very grounding in my life. So many of my memories are marked with songs, and I love now being able to also create music. Now that is not to say that it sounds much like music at this point…none-the-less the physical act of playing is so very healing, inspiring, and humbling.
I Hope You’ll Join Me on This Journey!
My hopes for this and future communications on my blog is to create a consistent flow of information regarding healing, health, and wellness. I plan to use my voice, ideas, and inspirations as well as call on other local experts for their voices and topics of interest. I have been feeling encouraged and inspired to help local, like-minded individuals collectivize and share their gifts and knowledge for the greater good of our Central Wisconsin Community.
